15 Years at The Ridge Marketplace: Growing With Our Community
Fifteen years gives you a lot to look back on. There are the big milestones, the changes you can see, and the things that have become familiar parts of everyday life at The Ridge. But when we think about the past 15 years, we find ourselves thinking less about individual moments and more about how everything has slowly grown into what The Ridge is today.
Since opening our doors back in 2011, we have continued to evolve. What began as one idea for a restaurant has since grown into a place with a bakery, garden center, gift shop, amphitheater, and a calendar filled with events and experiences for our community.
None of it happened all at once. It started with an idea.
Growing Into Something More

Over the years, new pieces of The Ridge began to take shape. The bakery opened. The Garden Center grew. The Gift Shop became part of the marketplace. Ridge Rock Amphitheater gave us a place to gather and host larger community events.
Each addition brought something new, but it also gave us another way to connect with the people who walked through our doors.
We’ve never wanted The Ridge to stay exactly the same. Growing means being willing to try something new, listen to our community, and find new ways to make this place better. That mindset has shaped much of what The Ridge has become today.
From An Idea To A Tradition

Our events have grown in much the same way.
Christmas at The Ridge, Fall Fest, and Easter Eggstravaganza have become familiar traditions for so many families. But they all started as simple ideas.
What if we created something families could enjoy together? What if we gave people another reason to gather? What if we could create an experience that became part of someone’s holiday traditions?
Those questions have led to some of our favorite events over the years.
We’ve continued to add new ideas, too. Paint & Sip classes, seasonal workshops, and other events have given people different ways to spend time together, learn something new, and enjoy The Ridge in a different way.
Some ideas become annual traditions. Others evolve into something completely different, and sometimes an idea simply shows us what our community enjoys and where we can grow next.
That’s part of the fun.
Giving Back Through Free Events

One of the biggest things that has grown from those ideas is our commitment to offering free events.
The Ridge has been incredibly fortunate to have the support of the Texas Hill Country for so many years. We have seen that support in the customers who continue to shop and dine with us, the families who return for events, the local businesses and vendors who partner with us, and the people who have made The Ridge part of their lives.
At some point, we started asking ourselves a simple question. How can we give back to the community that has given so much to us?
Free community events became one of the answers.
We wanted families to be able to come out, spend time together, and enjoy something without worrying about the cost. We wanted to create opportunities for kids to explore, learn, play, and simply have fun. That has now turned into an important part of who we are.
Growing With The Next Generation

Our kids’ programs have grown in their own special ways. Wednesday with Woodrow has become a summertime favorite for families, and each year we see more children coming back to discover what new crafts are in store for them. As the program has grown, so has our desire to make each week feel new and exciting. This year, we introduced the concept of travelling to a new country each week, giving kids the chance to explore different places, cultures, crafts, and activities together.
Toddler Time has grown into its own little community, too. Each week brings a new theme and a new opporturnity for toddlers and their families to play, create, and explore. From farmers market days to rodeo themes and everything in between, the activities may change, but the heart of the program stays the same: creating a fun and welcoming place for our youngest guests to simply enjoy being kids while developing fundamental skills along the way.
Watching these programs grow has been one of the most rewarding parts of what we do. They are reminders that sometimes the smallest ideas can become something much bigger than we originally imagined.
Looking Ahead
As we celebrate fifteen years, we’re taking a moment to appreciate how far The Ridge has come and the community that has helped shape it along the way. So much of what exists today started with a simple idea, and we’re grateful for everyone who helped grow it into something more.
We’re excited to celebrate this milestone with the people who have been part of our story. Welcome Home Y’all: Celebrating 15 Years at The Ridge has been rescheduled and will now take place alongside our Fall Fest on Saturday, October 24th, from 5–8 PM. We hope you’ll join us as we celebrate fifteen years of The Ridge, the memories we’ve made, and the community that has made it all possible.
We don’t know exactly what the next fifteen years will bring, but we’re excited to continue growing, creating, and finding new ways to serve our community. Thank you for being part of our story and for growing with us. We look forward to what comes next.
